Travel insurance for Serbia[edit]

World Nomads offer the most flexible Travel Insurance at the best prices for multi-country / multi-year trips. You can buy, extend and claim online, even after you've left home.

Vehicle insurance requirements[edit]

3rd party liability insurance is mandatory in Serbia.

Serbia is a member under section III of the Multilateral Agreement on Motor Insurance. Vehicles registered and insured in EU, Andorra, Croatia, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland do not need the Green card to enter Serbia. A valid national vehicle registration plate substitutes the green card.

Vehicles registered in other Green card system member countries do need a green card to enter Serbia. Insurance coverage for Serbia is identified by the code SRB.

The insurance coverage is limited to areas of Serbia under control by the Government of Serbia, thus does not apply to the region of Kosovo/UMNIK (under United Nations resolution 1244).

Cost of vehicle insurance[edit]

Drivers of cars with foreign registration who are not registered in the EU, or don't have a Green card must purchase border automobile insurance from a local insurance company at the border when entering Serbia.

The price varies depending on the vehicle type and the duration of the coverage. The minimum coverage is one month, and maximum twelve months.

For informational purposes, the price of 1-month coverage for an automobile is the Serbian dinar (RSD) equivalent of 105.00 EUR, and 66.15 EUR for a motorcycle.

Where to purchase vehicle insurance[edit]

Describe where insurance can be purchased.
