Roads can reach up to 23% of gradient, especially in the Alps.
Road signs
No problem regarding road signs, everything is well-indicated.
Toll roads
Toll roads are highways (Esat-west and North-south).
You have to buy a vignette (for 15 days/1 month/1 year), tolls are video-controled and the vignette is read by an automatic system when you enter the highway.
Vignette can be found nearly on all the roads that lead into the country, immediately after the border.

Safety and Security Considerations
Driving at night
The country is safe and you can drive at night.
Vehicle parking
- Vehicle parking is no issue during the day nor is it at night if you do not plan to sleep in the vehicle.
- If you plan to sleep in the vehicle, you are not allowed to park anywhere else than on dedicated areas or campings.
Special driving considerations
- Nothing special to be considered. Slovenians are very polite and will take into consideration you are a foreigner and will ease your way.
- Just take into consideration that if a road is not allowed to a certain category of vehicles (length, weight, height etc.) there is always a good reason and you will be stuck if you try.
- Be careful when you enter a town, there may be small roads or limited in height where you have difficulties to pass through if you have a big vehicle.
